Save on Tickets

When you’re living on a tight budget, your social life can suffer. Budgeters tend to stay at home because entertainment is so expensive. If you know where to look, though, you can attend sports games, concerts, theater performances, and other events for a lot less than others are paying.

Free Classifieds. Check places like craigslist.com, or local classified papers such as The Thrifty Nickel or Ad Sack. People often buy tickets and then either realize they can’t attend the event, or are in dire need of money and try to sell them quickly (and cheaply).

Bid. Try buying your event tickets at online auctions. Auctions often start their bids at just pennies, and often go for well under face value. Click here to use the Ticket Finder, which will find ticket auctions in the area of your choice.

Free exchange. I’ve found a site where you can buy, sell, and trade your tickets with no additional transaction fees. The price you see is the price you pay. (Some sellers will often accept offers on the tickets they’re selling… they’d rather sell them cheaply rather than not at all.) Click here to register for your free account and start browsing.
